Description

Esmé Body is a body by Sam, made from a smooth, satin-like micro fabric with a scalloped lace trim in a contrasting shade. Esmé Body has a V neckline, fine adjustable straps, a high-cut leg and a thong back. The cups hold removable padding, so you decide how much shape you want.

Material and fit

Esmé Body is made from 80% polyamide and 20% elastane, with a 100% cotton gusset. The micro fabric is thin and smooth with a soft sheen, and stretches in every direction without going slack. The lace runs along the neckline, across the back and around both leg openings, and is soft enough to stay flat against the skin rather than scratching or rolling up. Esmé Body fits true to size through the body; a size up gives folds rather than extra comfort, so stay with your own size.

When to wear Esmé Body

Esmé Body is lingerie you can also wear as a garment. Under tailored trousers or jeans with a blazer, Esmé Body works as a top, with only the lace V showing above the lapels. As lingerie, Esmé Body replaces both bra and brief at once, which is useful under a close-fitting dress or skirt.

What is Esmé Body made of?

Esmé Body is made from 80% polyamide and 20% elastane, with a 100% cotton gusset. The polyamide gives a smooth, thin fabric with a satin-like sheen, the elastane provides stretch that springs back, and the cotton gusset sits soft and breathable against the skin.

Does Esmé Body have press studs at the gusset?

Yes. Esmé Body fastens at the bottom with fine, flat press studs that you do not feel while wearing it. You therefore do not need to take the whole body off to use the bathroom, and there is no hard fastening that shows under close-fitting trousers.

Is Esmé Body visible under clothing?

Barely. The micro fabric is thin and smooth, and because Esmé Body has a thong back, no seam runs across the seat. Only the lace edge along the leg can show slightly under very thin, tight fabric.

What is the difference between Esmé Body and the Lacey LS Body?

Esmé Body is made from smooth micro with lace only as a trim, and has straps and removable padding; the Lacey LS Body is lace throughout, with long sleeves and unlined cups. Choose Esmé Body if you want something that stays invisible under clothing, and the Lacey LS Body if you want the lace on show, or more coverage for a fuller cup size.

Is there a matching item for Esmé Body?

Esmé Body belongs to the same line as the Aimee Bralette and the Philippa Thong, in the same satin-like micro with the same lace trim. You would not wear Esmé Body with those two, though: the body takes the place of both bra and brief. It is a choice rather than an addition.

How do you wash Esmé Body?

Machine wash Esmé Body at 30°C. Do not bleach, do not iron, do not dry clean and do not tumble dry.
